The University of the Middle East Project is not accepting applications for internships at this time. Please check back later for possible openings.

The University of the Middle East Project regularly offers internships to both undergraduate and graduate students. We accept students with expertise in a wide range of disciplines, including,

  • Education
  • International Development
  • Non-profit and NGO administration
  • Middle East and North Africa regional studies

We value our interns greatly and often trust them with high levels of responsibility. Interns' assignments can vary widely, or may be focused on their areas of interest and ability. Exposure to the Middle East or North Africa, either through travel in the region or proficiency in a relevant language, is looked upon favorably.

UME offers two internships: the International NGO Management Insternship during the academic year, and the Teacher Education Institute Internship from the last two weeks of June until the first week of August. Additionally, short-term volunteers and special project interns are occasionally accepted, depending on applicant interest.

We welcome you to join our efforts by sending your résumé and cover letter to Ray Matsumiya, Executive Director at [email protected]. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so please indicate the internship for which you would like to be considered, and your dates and hours of availability.
